I attended the class on the day of authentic malay dishes.

First we went to a local market for a breakfast where the tourist guide lady showed us the basic ingredients what we used while cooking. She also shared interesting stories about the malay culture and history.

After that we went to the kitchen which is located near the city in the rain forest. We especially liked the chef Saadiah with her experience and happy mood. It was a good session, I will definitely recommend it.

Cooking tours are a great way to meet the locals, experience the culture have fun cooking new styles an finishing off with a delicious meal. The Lazat experience was all this plus more. We had wonderful day with some absolutely charming people that were generous and hospitable....... February 2018

This was my second visit to Lazat. I last went there 5 years ago when the cooking operation was in a shopping center. Even then it was brilliant but it has gone from strength to strength.
The market tour now involves a delicious breakfast and the cooking studio is now an outdoor kitchen nestled among the trees on the outskirts of KL. Pickup was prompt and everyone there is still so friendly.
Ana, the owner, welcomed me back like an old friend.....

Thank you all you the class today. Rachel and I really enjoyed your friendly welcome to Malaysian cookery. The market tour was very educational and it was good to be there while it was still quiet so we could ask questions and get to taste a few new things.

The cookery class itself was also excellent. Hani and Saadiah were our teachers and they explained things clearly but in a relaxed and friendly way that broke the ice with our international group of 10 students. The only challenge in the day was trying to eat the mass of tasty food we had created! Highly recommended for travelling foodies.

My partner and I decided to do something different whilst visiting Malaysia and as we are both into our food, we opted for this. If you are looking for a Malaysian authentic cooking class and experience, look no further. The owner,  Ana is really the heart of the operation and makes the whole day so special.

We started in the local market with breakfast and a tour, then cooked a curry and two side dishes, and then had the pleasure of eating it. It was so delicious and an interesting day learning about Malaysian cuisine, of which Ana and Hani (our teacher) were clearly so passionate about. Thanks for a great day!
